Ways to Learn About Children

MARE provides many programs and services for families to get to know the children who are waiting to be adopted.  Families can use these mediums at any point in the adoption journey.  Learn about the children to explore whether adoption from foster care is right for you.  Or use these programs once you are ready to find that special child for your home.

In addition to using this website to learn about children, please consider the following:

  • If you are a homestudied family, talk to your social worker about your interest in particular children.  He/she is your best advocate and can assist in communicating with the children’s social worker.
  • Talk to other families who have already adopted or are waiting as well.  MARE’s Friend of the Family Program can connect you with a mentor or can refer you to an adoptive parent support group. Contact Ricardo Franco at MARE for more information.
