HI! My name is Xavier.
“I love talking to adults.”
Let
me tell you more about myself…
Someday, I’d like to work with kids.
And
here’s what others say…
Xavier is an interesting, talkative and active African American and Latino
teenager who is a joy to have around. He is a bit shy and reserved at
first, but opens up and lets his engaging personality shine once he has
time to warm up. Thirteen years old, Xavier likes to keep busy by playing
sports, especially basketball and football. Xavier also enjoys adventurous
activities such as camping, kayaking, and hiking. He recently tried climbing
on a rock wall and loved it. Xavier is a mature and intuitive teen who
shows insight into his life. When talking about finding a permanent family,
Xavier recently explained that he wants a family because he knows that
he wouldn’t be able to make it on his own. He currently lives with
a foster family with whom he gets along well. Xavier responds positively
to his foster father’s patience and willingness to talk through
problems. He, like many teens, is beginning to seek out more freedom and
hopes to find an understanding family who will let him work towards gaining
more independence. Xavier attends a therapeutic day school where he is
on target academically and benefits from behavioral supports. Though school
is not one of Xavier’s favorite things, he has the potential to
do well when motivated. He enjoys participating in the summer program
at school and has made friends there. Xavier is an engaging youngster
who will certainly bring a lot of joy to a permanent family. He hopes
to find a family who will let him be active in organized activities, as
well as in the neighborhood. He would do well with a single or two-parent
family, with or without other children, who will provide him a home filled
with love, consistency and understanding.
If
I could have my own special wish…
I would find a permanent family really soon.
