HI! My name is Yamil.
“I like going out to eat.”

Let me tell you more about myself…
I also like to be funny.

And here’s what others say…
Yamil is an energetic eleven year old Latino boy with a wonderful smile and a variety of interests. He enjoys staying active outdoors and especially likes to rollerblade, play baseball or basketball. Yamil also likes to go on day trip and outings with the other children at his residential home. He is helpful to those around him and enjoys the positive attention he receives. Friendly and talkative, Yamil is quick to joke around and loves to smile. He thrives with one to one attention and truly wants to be loved by those around him. Yamil continues to learn to express himself when situations don’t go his way and to build stronger social skills. He does well with the consistency, structure and routines of his residential home. Yamil also attends school at the home where he has an individualized education plan to address his cognitive, social and academic needs. He does well with frequent redirection and currently reads at a first grade level and completes second grade level math. Legally free for adoption, he is ready to have the love and support of a permanent family. Yamil would benefit from a very patient and loving two-parent family with no children or with an older child who will be a positive role model. An ideal family will be able to advocate on Yamil’s behalf to ensure he continues to receive the supports he needs and will provide him with lots of attention, firm limits and understanding. Yamil needs to know that his new family will help him to maintain some visitation and contact with his birth mother and birth father.

If I could have my own special wish…
My new family would understand that I still care about my birth parents.
