Rafael, who prefers to be called Raffi, is a bright, energetic, and fun-loving 9 year old Latino boy who shows great concern for others. He has an adventurous spirit and enjoys new things. Raffi describes himself as “outgoing and active” and enjoys playing basketball, riding his bike, playing with other children, and any other activity that involves the outdoors. He has a great sense of humor, and people often attach to him quickly due to his engaging manner. In addition to having fun outdoors, Raffi also enjoys doing puzzles, playing video and board games, listening to music, using building sets, and watching cartoons. He takes pleasure in assisting around the house and helping to do chores. Raffi is doing well in his current foster home where he has a healthy attachment to his caregivers. Raffi is an engaging child who benefits from one-on-one attention and encouragement from adults. Although he struggles to maintain strong friendships, he enjoys and does well interacting with the children in his extended foster family. Raffi is a well-spoken third grader who is eager to learn and is benefiting from his individualized education plan. Legally free for adoption, Raffi hopes he can find a permanent home where he will no longer have to worry about who he can depend on and where he will be accepted without the fear of rejection. He would benefit most from a dedicated and patient two-parent family or a single dad with no younger children.
