HI! My name is Christopher.
“I love story books.”
Let
me tell you more about myself…
I dance with my hands when I’m happy.
And
here’s what others say…
Christopher is a five
year old Caucasian boy who loves to receive attention and praise from
the adults in his life. He interacts with others through his eye contact
and great smiles. Having books read aloud to him is certainly one of Christopher’s
favorite pastimes, and he enjoys flipping the page or using a switch to
advance stories on the computer in his classroom. Christopher also likes
to spend time looking in the mirror at himself. Because of significant
medical needs, he relies on his caregivers for mobility. Christopher uses
a g-tube to feed and a ventilator to breath. Since birth, he has lived
at a medical facility where he also attends school. Christopher receives
music, occupational, speech and language and physical therapies at his
day school where he also participates in adaptive physical education.
He is developmentally at a six month to a one year old level. Though non-verbal,
Christopher lets those around him know how he is feeling by shaking his
head or crying when unhappy and smiling or dancing with his hands when
happy. Christopher has never had the opportunity to live with a family.
Legally free for adoption, he certainly would do well in a home filled
with love and support. An ideal family would be comfortable meeting Christopher’s
extensive medical needs. Christropher would do well with or without other
children at home.
If I could
have my own special wish…
I would have a family who will let me see my
grandmas.
