HI! My name is Shakur.
“I have a great memory!”
Let
me tell you more about myself…
I think I’m polite and funny.
And
here’s what others say…
Though a bit shy at first, nine year old Shakur is a friendly and talkative
African American youngster. He loves watching movies, playing video games
and anything to do with Spiderman. Recently, Shakur learned to play basketball
and he has since become more thrilled with the sport. He is a smart child
who enjoys receiving one to one attention from adults. Shakur currently
lives with relatives and has a strong connection to them. A family for
Shakur will need to understand and help to maintain these relationships.
He enjoys being part of family activities and keeping busy. Shakur is
extremely helpful to those around him and loves to work as part of a team.
At school, he benefits from an individualized education plan that addresses
his academic and emotional needs. Shakur is thrilled with the extra attention
he receives in his small classroom and is proud to have earned the “student
of the week” award this school year. Legally free for adoption,
he hopes to soon have a permanent family with whom he can share his successes
and rely on during difficult times. Shakur has suffered great losses in
his young life and would benefit from a committed single or two-parent
family, with no younger children, who will ensure he continues to receive
the emotional and outside supports he needs. An ideal family will provide
him with consistent limits and supervision. As Shakur loves spending time
with the positive men in his life, an ideal family will also provide him
a strong and positive male figure in his future.
If I could
have my own special wish…
I would have a family that understands that my aunt and cousins are very
important in my life.
