Steven is a ten year old boy of Caucasian and Latino descent. His favorite activities include video games, playing on the computer and playing outside. Steven is doing well in his current foster home where he is given structure and guidance. Though Steven has had difficulty with peer interactions, he continues to work on his social skills and is greatly improving. Steven currently benefits from an individualized educational plan at the specialized school he attends. Though functioning at a first grade level, Steven’s hard work and efforts to please others are allowing him to progress both in school and in his social relationships. Legally free for adoption, Steven would do well with a variety of family constellations, and he will thrive with a family who is willing to show him both patience and love. He would do well with an understanding family, with the determination to help Steven reach his potential. It is important that Steven’s family be willing to help him maintain contact with his siblings and his birth mother on a regular basis.
