Born of Caucasian and Latino heritage, ten year old Dylan is outgoing once he is comfortable with those around him. He enjoys playing sports, such as baseball and ice hockey, but prefers to play for fun rather than for competition. Dylan also likes watching movies, going on day trips, and playing video and board games. Currently living in a residential home, he thrives with a very structured and consistent home life. He does well at school in his small, structured classroom. An ideal family for Dylan would be open to being a visiting resource while he takes the time he needs to build a trusting relationship and to slowly transition into his new family. Fifteen year old Hector is a versatile adolescent who has an adventurous spirit. Of Caucasian and Latino descent, he currently participates in a break-dancing club and is learning to play the acoustic guitar. Hector is a natural athlete who enjoys supporting Boston’s sports teams. He also likes to play baseball, basketball, soccer, and floor hockey. Currently in a specialized school setting, Hector continues to strive to reach academic goals. His favorite subject is math. Hector is resilient and has overcome many obstacles in his life. He will need a slow transition into his new home and would do best in a single or two-parent family where there are older or no other children. Javone is a caring and kind twelve year old boy of African American heritage. Shy and reserved at first, he slowly opens up once he is comfortable with someone. Javone likes spending quiet time reading books and playing video games. His favorite active sport is swimming. Javone enjoys receiving positive attention and being helpful around his foster home. He gets along well with other children both at home and at school. Javone would like to find a loving single or two-parent family who have other children around his age or older. Eleven year old Joey has a pleasant disposition and social nature that help him to get along with just about anyone. Of Cape Verdean descent, Joey is always eager to please others. He likes cars, sports, riding horses, being outdoors, riding his bike, and playing with the children who live on his street. A diehard Patriots fan, Joey knows all of the players’ names and faithfully watches the games on television. At school, he is in a regular classroom where he receives special educational services. Joey would do well with a single or two-parent family, with or without children, who will set realistic expectations for him. Ten year old Jordan is often described as a very happy-go-lucky child. Of African American descent, he enjoys attention from adults and is willing to try anything new. Jordan has a variety of interests, particularly arts and crafts. At school, he is working at grade level and is actively trying to build peer relationships and positive interactions. Jordan has made significant progress on behavioral issues that are being addressed through the support that is provided to him in his residential home. He would do well in a two-parent household, with no children or one other child. Jordan hopes to find a family who will help him to maintain a connection with his brother. Considerate, intelligent and friendly, Jose is an easy-going twelve year old boy of Latino heritage with many interests. He enjoys playing basketball, going to the movies and taking care of his foster family’s dog. Building with Legos and collecting Yo-Gi-Oh cards are also favorite activities of his. Jose takes pride in keeping his things very neat and organized. With his sweet and caring nature, he enjoys being around elderly people and showing politeness by opening doors for others. Jose looks forward to school where he excels academically. He hopes to find a single mom or two-parent family, with or without other children, who will provide him with love and commitment. Four year old Kody is a happy and observant Caucasian boy who loves to play patty-cake. He also likes to blow kisses, laugh and play with others. He enjoys being outdoors, taking rides in the car, and watching children’s shows on television. Kody is a resilient child who continues to confront significant challenges that result from his birth history and cerebral palsy. He receives on-going medical care and support services. Kody is working on developing words and is able to say “mama,” “hi,” and “bye-bye.” He attends preschool where teachers report he is making progress. Kody is ready to find a permanent single or two-parent family, with or without children, who will provide him with the attention, love and support he needs.

Born in August 1991, Leisa is a teen with many great qualities and interests. She is a phenomenal basketball player who also enjoys dancing and singing. Born in November 1996, Tatkneeya is a caring and sensitive child. She enjoys watching movies, dancing, playing video games and collecting Bratz dolls. Tatkneeya enjoys playing basketball and hopes to one day be on a basketball team. These sisters of African American heritage would do well with a straight forward family who will support, nurture and reassure them while providing them with clear, predictable expectations and choices. They hope to find a loving single or two-parent family with no younger children who will help them maintain their connection with their other siblings. Mariah is a born leader. She is a confident and outgoing African American sixteen year old who loves to sing and dance and even enjoys making up her own dance moves. Cooking is another interest of Mariah’s, and one of her specialties is chili. Graduating from high school is Mariah’s short-term goal, and she looks forward to having a supportive adoptive family with whom she can share her successes. Energetic and social, Marianne is a Caucasian nine year old who loves being silly. She can often be found dancing, playing dress-up or just having a laugh with those around her. She thrives with a lot of attention from the adults in her life. At school, Marianne continues to work hard to catch up in math and reading, and receives supports that address her academic and behavioral needs. Marianne would do well with two parents, especially two moms, who will provide her with the love, understanding and support she needs. Michael is a fun-loving, twelve year old Latino boy who is well-liked by his peers. Described as a “good eater,” he likes to chow down on anything from home-cooked meals to fast food. In his spare time, Michael enjoys drawing, playing video games and going to his after-school program. He is creative and makes amazing structures using LEGOs. He is passionate about basketball, and dreams of becoming a professional player when he grows up. Michael is a hard-working student, but needs help staying focused. Special education services address his academic and behavioral challenges. Michael will thrive in a family who provides him with attention, consistency and structure. Mikey is an adorable ten year old Latino boy who always has a smile on his face. Quite the conversationalist, he likes to ask a lot of questions and is very inquisitive. He loves playing with toy cars and knows a lot about different makes and models. Not one for sports, Mikey enjoys going to the park, riding his scooter or playing indoors. He attends a specialized school where he receives the academic and social supports he needs. He is a big fan of books and enjoys reading and having someone read to him. He is ready to find a patient and loving two-parent family, with no younger children, who will help him to continue to make strides and reach his full potential.
