HI! My name is Jonique.
“I’ve enjoyed reading Harry Potter books.”

Let me tell you more about myself…
I’d like to try my hand at singing, acting and learning how to swim.

And here’s what others say…
Jonique is a sweet, smart 14-year-old of Cape Verdean and Caucasian descent. She tends to be quiet at first and needs time to warm up to new people. Once she feels comfortable, she shares her beautiful smile and good sense of humor. Jonique is in the eighth grade where her favorite subject is science. She is taking French for a second language, and although she finds it difficult, she is trying hard. Jonique likes learning and generally does well in school. She also gets along well with her peers. Jonique wants to grow up to be a nurse. In her spare time, Jonique likes to read, draw and watch television. Jonique is generally respectful and obeys household rules in her foster home. She has been in foster care for several years and is ready to find a family of her own. She wants to fit in and feel that she belongs. Jonique’s social worker is seeking a single mom or a two-parent family who will provide Jonique with nurturance, structure and accountability when necessary. Jonique would like to have siblings and would do well with other children her age or older. She also has an older sister and some contact between them would be beneficial. Legally free for adoption, Jonique is waiting to blossom with a caring family by her side.

If I could have my own special wish…
I would finally have a family where I could belong.
