Amanda is an 11 year old girl of Caucasian descent who can be quiet and shy, preferring to be an observer at first. It was recently revealed that she is quite a talented artist. She loves to draw and do arts and crafts, including coloring. She also enjoys board games, puzzles, cards, and playing computer games. She is a great swimmer and enjoys having new clothes and having her nails done! Amanda is doing well in her current foster family. She enjoys completing her chores and helping around the house. Amanda and her foster family enjoy joking around a lot. Her foster family believes that her sometimes “bossy” and “mean” behaviors are her way of joking around. At school, Amanda is in a class devoted to children with severe academic difficulties. She likes doing well in school and is currently working on her reading and math and is completing daily worksheets. Her social worker is looking for a two parent family (mom/dad or mom/mom) with older girls or with no other children. She is currently in therapy weekly to address feelings of loss. Amanda needs a family that is skilled in addressing her behavioral, emotional, and intellectual delays. Amanda would continue to excel in a calm, peaceful home where there are firm limits, consistency, and people with a good sense of humor.
