HI! My name is Roderick.
"I am a natural when it comes to athletics!"

Let me tell you more about myself…
I make others smile.

And here’s what others say…
Roderick, who prefers to be called Rod, is an active, friendly, 14-year-old African American young man. Rod is very curious about the world, unafraid to ask questions, and is described by others as charming and endearing. He is a polite, articulate teen who would love to play sports in college. Rod is seeking a permanent family to provide him with the support and guidance he needs to reach his goals. An outdoorsy, suburban lifestyle suits Rod, but he could adapt to a family who lives in the city and is able to meet his needs in other ways.

Rod loves to participate in most athletic activities and especially loves basketball. Recently, he discovered the game of lacrosse and is really enjoying playing a new sport. He has athletic talents and helped bring his lacrosse team to the finals. Additionally, Rod loves puzzles, video games, and break dancing. He’s even been known to write his own lyrics to rap songs.

Rod is doing well with in his current foster home where he has an especially strong relationship with his foster father. Rod would do best with a single male or male/female family that can parent him with a combination of clear rules and expectations, as well as compassionate nurturance to help rebuild his self-esteem impacted by years of loss and neglect. Furthermore, Rod would like a prospective family to know that he and his biological sister continue to visit one another and have a close relationship. Rod loves receiving adult attention and would benefit most as the only or youngest child in a family, however, he also gets along well with children close in age.

If I could have my own special wish…
I make others smile.
