HI! My name is Elijah.
“Athletics is where it is at for me.”

Let me tell you more about myself…
Basketball is my favorite sport.

And here’s what others say…
Eleven year old Elijah is a sweet, caring, and engaging young man of African American descent. He has an animated personality and describes himself as athletic and funny. Although Elijah may take awhile to warm up to new people, once he does, he is able to establish caring relationships. When it comes to favorite activities, it is all sports all of the time with Elijah. When he isn’t on the basketball court teaching people some new techniques, Elijah can be found swimming in the pool or snowboarding on the slopes. He would like to be a professional basketball player when he grows up. Elijah enjoys drawing and building things when he has some quiet time. Elijah resides in, and attends school at, a residential program, where he receives the support he needs to continue to make progress and to learn techniques on how to manage his behaviors. He is doing so well that his social worker plans on transitioning him into a foster home soon. Elijah is very intelligent and is working at grade level at school.

Legally free for adoption, Elijah would like to find a family with a mother and a father, or a single parent family, with or without older children. A family that is willing to begin as a visiting resource for Elijah, and that would respect Elijah’s need for a slow transition to a permanent family, would be ideal. With a zest for life and a resilient approach, Elijah would be a special addition to a family willing to offer him the patience and permanency that he needs to shine.

If I could have my own special wish…
I would like to live with a family that will love me and will read me bedtime stories.
