Salena is a vivacious, legally free eleven year old girl of African American and Caucasian descent. She is very friendly, always smiling and eager to help others. She has great fashion sense and enjoys putting outfits together. She enjoys riding her bike, swimming, jumping rope, going to the amusement park, movies, music and dancing. Salena also loves dogs and would like a dog as a pet in her new family. She also love to shop and is especially fond of shoes. When she is older Salena says that she would like to become a model or a singer. Salena attends public school, is in a regular classroom and is an excellent student. She is well liked by her peers and teachers. She attends therapy weekly to help her address issues around loss, attachment and her difficult life history. Legally free for adoption, Salena would do well as the youngest child in the family. She wishes for an older sister who can help her do her hair. Salena will also need a family that can respect and understand her connection with her twin sibling and birth family and will support her need for continued contact with both.
