HI! My name is Delmy.
“I’m a great dancer!”

Let me tell you more about myself…
I love writing poetry and drawing.

And here’s what others say…
Delmy is a charming, friendly and engaging fourteen year old young lady of Guatemalan descent who is not yet legally freed for adoption. Some of Delmy’s favorite things to do include dancing, listening to music, playing video and board games, drawing, and physical activities, especially basketball. She enjoys being playful and joking around with others. In the fall, Delmy is in the 8th grade, where English is her favorite subject. Although Spanish is her first language, Delmy prefers to speak in English and her conversational skills are very good. Delmy is a very bright young lady, and most of the challenges she faces in school are a result of her ADHD and her past traumas. With the help of her therapist, Delmy is working on managing her strong emotions, and has been making steady progress. She takes a lot of pride in her successes. An ideal family for Delmy would be a two-parent household with a lot of energy, as Delmy is very strong-willed and active. If there are children in the home, they should be older since Delmy has demonstrated some highly-competitive behaviors with younger siblings. Most importantly, Delmy needs two strong parents who can give her the supports she needs to process her past and help her move on to her future.

If I could have my own special wish…
I would want to maintain a connection with my father and Godfather
.
