HI! My name is Joseph.
“I love asking questions!”

Let me tell you more about myself…
I want to try karate.

And here’s what others say…
Joseph is an active and curious nine year old Latino boy who is legally free for adoption.  He would greatly benefit from involvement in enrichment activities such as karate or baseball, where he can expel a lot of his energy.  Joseph is an inquisitive child, and enjoys learning about the answers to his questions.  He also enjoys having “staring contests” at home and at school. In school, he is an active classroom participant and really enjoys being picked by the teacher for activities.  Joseph is in the second grade and does not require academic supports.  He does have behavioral supports and can sometimes need reminders about appropriate boundaries, especially with women.  Joseph benefits from bi-weekly therapy, and is ready to connect with a family who can support him as he grows up.

Joseph would do best in a single mom family, or a two parent family, with no younger children in the home.  Older male siblings could be a great asset for Joseph, as they could help role model behaviors for him.  His future family should be patient and calm, but also have the ability to be firm and stick to a routine and schedule.  His behaviors are best when he is presented with a visual outline of routine, schedule and expectations.  Incentive-based behavioral plans also work very well.  Joseph would also benefit from a parent who can work collaboratively with school staff.  The ideal family will also be comfortable with birth family contact.

If I could have my own special wish…
I wish for a family of my own!
