Lisha is a 12 year old girl from the Dominican Republic. Although Lisha only learned to speak English five short years ago, one would never know! She speaks Spanish and English fluently, and continues to strengthen her reading skills. Lisha is friendly and kind and considers herself to be “easy to talk to.” She loves to sing, read, and socialize with her friends. Lisha likes to please others and puts others’ needs before her own, but she is working to be more assertive and to advocate for herself.

Lisha does well in school where she receives reading and language support. She enjoys reading and is building her confidence to read aloud in class. She aspires to go to college someday. Lisha is doing well in her foster home where she is very attached to her foster sister. Lisha’s worker feels that she would do best in a home with children who are either several years younger or older than she. Additionally, she feels that a single female or a two parent home would be best for Lisha. Legally free for adoption, Lisha hopes to find a family “who will love me forever and be kind to me.” 

If I could have my own special wish...
I would like to pursue singing.
