Introduction

Alanis is a beautiful, sweet and loving little girl who enjoys music, particularly Cocomelon. She also enjoys being held and comforted by her caregivers. When they whisper to her it makes her giggle. Alanis is also able to make sounds and she enjoys hearing herself. She is able to displays contentment and happiness when her basic needs are met such as being fed and bathed and having her diaper changed. She receives early intervention services which include oral stimulation, being held, looking in a mirror and using toys.

Alanis needs a nurturing environment in order to build a positive and loving relationship with her caregivers. Interactive playtime and communication with her caregivers will also help foster her emotional, physical and social growth.

Alanis would do well in any family constellation that is willing and able to provide her with round-the-clock care and the attention needed for her complex medical needs. Her new family will not be alone providing her with care . They will have help and support services of other caregivers and medical professionals. A home with other children will be also be considered providing that her new family is able to meet all of Alanis' needs and can ensure that she receives the necessary attention and care. Alanis' new family would also need to be trained on how to meet her medical needs, be comfortable performing her various types of care, be open to multiple caregivers in their home and able to attend with her numerous medical appointments. She is currently receiving most of her services at Boston's Children Hospital. It would be ideal to find a family that lives in close proximity to Boston in order to easily maintain the care that she receives there. Families from MA, other New England states and New York are encouraged to inquire about Alanis providing that they live within driving distance of a children's hospital that can provide Alanis with specialists knowledgeable of her unique needs.
