Introduction

Jehlia possesses many strengths. She has a caring and empathic nature. Jehlia is also fun, engaging and smart. She has a great smile and laugh, and has a wonderful sense of humor. Jehlia is a very resilient young girl who has many interests. She enjoys the arts, dancing, singing, and music. Jehlia is an active girl who has excelled at all physical activities. Jehlia did a "Ninja Warrior" camp which she loved! Jehlia has excellent communication and social skills and is adept at making meaningful, close connections with others. She is described by others as a joy to be with.

Jehlia is smart and does well academically. She is very motivated to do well, and she has received all A's on her report card! She receives supports to ensure that her emotional needs are met. Jehlia loves other kids and is very friendly.

Jehlia who is of African American descent, would do best in a strong, structured home as an only child, with parents that are able to support her. Jehlia wants a family that looks like her. When her worker speaks with her about adoption, Jehlia will show her worker black and brown families that she thinks may be a match. Jehlia's worker is open to a family where at least one of the parents is a person of color. A family for Jehlia must be supportive of her relationship with her brother. She also has visits twice a year with her birth mother.
