Introduction

Shane is a caring boy with an infectious smile. He loves connecting with others. Shane enjoys dancing, riding his scooter, and playing on the playground. He is energetic and playful. He has been described as a happy and free spirited. He is very secure in who he is and is exploring his identity.

Shane does well in school and receives additional support throughout the day. He is engaged in his learning and works well with others. Shane seeks out positive connections with both his peers and the adults in his life. He thrives on a daily routine.

Shane would do well with a supportive and kind family who could provide him with the ongoing structure and support he needs. A family should have some experience or understanding of trauma informed care. Shane would do well with a family who can allow him to explore his identity and interests and provide unconditional love, as well as providing safety, stability, and consistency. Either a two-parent family or single parent with a strong ability to access supports would be best for Shane. He would do well as an only child or with older siblings. Additionally, a family should be open to maintaining his relationship with his older brother.
