Introduction

Aliyana, who also goes by Ali, is a quirky, funny, affectionate, and loving girl who brings joy and personality wherever she goes. Those who know Ali best describe her as highly engaging and wonderfully self-entertaining. One thing is clear about Ali: she enjoys just about everything! Her curiosity and enthusiasm for the world around her make each day an opportunity for a new experience.

Ali loves being active and getting out into the community. She enjoys yoga, going for walks, and visiting the gym. Community outings are among her favorite experiences, she especially enjoys seeing animals and trying different foods. Ali also has a unique interest in watching dental videos on YouTube and genuinely enjoys going to the dentist and doctor's appointments!

Creativity and exploration are also important parts of Ali's life. She enjoys arts and crafts, pretend play, music, and exploring the world around her. In the past, Ali has especially enjoyed spending time outdoors looking at bugs and plants and playing with water in pools, water tables, and even puddles. She has a wonderful imagination and enjoys caring for stuffed animals and playing with toys while singing familiar songs.

Ali communicates using simple one-word responses as well as her communication device. She continues to benefit from support with communication and language development. At school, Ali is working on a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, and math, while receiving the individualized supports she needs to continue learning and growing.

Ali is becoming increasingly independent and enjoys making choices throughout her day. At the same time, she requires consistent adult supervision and support with daily living skills. Her caregivers will need to create an environment that supports both her safety and success. Ali also benefits from consistent routines and people that understand her needs and can help her navigate her day.

Relationships are incredibly important to Ali. She has meaningful connections with her family and with the staff members who work with her consistently. She is also very bonded to her peers at school and in her home. Ali would thrive with a loving, committed family who can provide the structure, supervision, advocacy, and support she needs while also celebrating her joyful and unique personality. 

Ali has so much love, curiosity, humor, and enthusiasm to share. With a nurturing family and the right supports in place, she has the opportunity to continue exploring the world, building meaningful relationships, and growing into the remarkable person she is meant to be.
