Introduction

Izabella, who also goes by Izzy, is a darling girl with an inquisitive, outgoing, and outspoken personality. She loves exploring the outdoors, whether through community activities, and gardening. Always eager to try new things, including new foods, Izzy embraces each opportunity with curiosity and enthusiasm. She also enjoys arts and crafts, as well as visiting the library to pick out books to read. With a fantastic imagination, Izzy plays well both independently and with her peers. One of her greatest strengths is her strong voice, she confidently advocates for herself and seeks clarification whenever something is unclear.

Izzy attends a private elementary school where she receives supports tailored to her educational needs. She was eager to begin the school year and has built strong relationships with both staff and peers. Currently placed in a residential program, Izzy has also developed meaningful connections with peers in that setting. She has made considerable progress, particularly in using her coping skills to regulate her emotions.

Izzy would thrive in a loving and committed family of any structure that includes a female parental figure, with or without significantly older children in the home. Ideal families will have experience with trauma-informed care and therapeutic parenting and be willing to utilize and support therapeutic services as needed. Izzy is biracial, of Hispanic and Caucasian descent, and her family must be dedicated to providing accurate cultural information and strong ethnic role models, including open discussions about racism and discrimination. Maintaining contact and regular visits with her younger brother, who is placed in a different program home, is especially important to her.
