Introduction

Mariyah is a bright, energetic teen who brings a spark of personality wherever she goes. She has a great sense of humor. Mariyah loves to have fun and stay active, whether that is shooting hoops on the basketball court, riding bikes around the neighborhood, or playing her favorite video games. She values her friendships and loves to spend time with her friends just laughing and chatting. She is an independent teen who speaks up for herself and others. While it can take some time to build trust, once she feels safe and understood her personality really shines. 

Mariyah attends school daily, where she receives some additional support. She is a strong reader with strong communication skills. Mariyah hopes to attend college one day, and dreams of going to Duke University.

Mariyah would do well with a two parent family, or a single mom who can offer patience, stability, and a caring environment. She would do best with a committed family who can stick with her through her ups and downs and provide guidance and support as she grows up. She is of African American descent and would love to have a family who celebrates her ethnicity. She has contact with her siblings and her maternal aunt. Mariyah is a young person who wants to belong, feel secure, and have a place where she can be the best version of herself.
