Introduction

K’Lonie is an active, friendly, and playful teenage girl known to be a girly girl who loves fashion, getting her hair and nails done, experimenting with makeup, and shopping for her own clothes and accessories. She also enjoys taking photos, organizing her photo album, and watching videos and graphics relating to her interest. K’Lonie likes listening to music and humming along to the songs.

K’Lonie currently resides in a residential-educational program consisting of staff who support her needs. She is meeting her target goals with supports and benefits from strong routine along with supervision and encouragement. K’Lonie is making great progress towards her verbal language development and is demonstrating an immense potential in her skill development. She consistently demonstrates competence in completing activities of daily living (ADLs) and assigned chores. K’Lonie has developed strong, meaningful connections with staff and peers and enjoys positive social engagement within the program.

K’Lonie will thrive with a patient, caring, and committed two-parent family with the natural supports in place to provide the stability and structure she needs. Interested families require the experience necessary with respect to the management of her educational supports, in addition to her transition from a residential program, and must be willing to welcome support from providers including their therapists. K’Lonie is of African American descent and would benefit a family who can ensure that she maintains her cultural connections. The ideal family for K’Lonie will help her maintain contact with members of her birth family and support their relationship.
