Introduction
Zyon is a sweet, clever, and funny kid! Those who know Zyon describe them as curious, loving, and full of energy, while Zyon describes themself as thoughtful, empathetic, and caring. What makes Zyon unique is their deep empathy for others, even while carrying a history of trauma. They are often seen as “wise beyond their years” and are remarkably supportive of those around them. Zyon thrives when engaging in creative activities. They love all kinds of arts and crafts, especially projects that involve building and problem-solving, such as Legos, building blocks, and puzzles. They also enjoy drawing, painting, writing stories, and exploring their love of superheroes. Zyon expresses themself best through drawing and writing, which they proudly identify as one of their greatest strengths. Outside of creative pursuits, Zyon enjoys Pokémon, playing Super Smash Brothers, and spending time outdoors. While they have not yet identified specific dreams for their future, Zyon’s big imagination and openness to new experiences show that they are still exploring their interests and discovering the many possibilities ahead of them.
Zyon is currently placed in a residential program where they are also enrolled in school. They are thriving with the support of an IEP, which provides them with a structured and therapeutic learning environment built on predictability and routine. Since enrollment, Zyon has made meaningful progress emotionally, behaviorally, and academically. They enjoy having positive interactions with peers and thrive in classes that allow them to express their artistic skills through creative assignments. Zyon values opportunities to play with others, and while they are still learning to navigate the challenges of building friendships, they are generally able to engage playfully and maintain positive connections. They also enjoy going on trips and trying new activities with both caretakers and peers, which allows them to continue building confidence and exploring their interests. Outside of the classroom, Zyon sometimes plays basketball or participates in other games offered by the program. While not currently on a team, they may be open to joining one in the future.
Zyon will thrive in a supportive and loving family of any constellation, with or without other children in the home. A family experienced in therapeutic parenting and open to collaborating with their providers would best support his continued growth. It will also be important for their family to have strong advocacy skills and the ability to navigate educational support programs to ensure their needs are met. Zyon shares a close bond with their sister who lives in an adoptive home in a nearby town. They usually see each other twice a week, which brings Zyon a great deal of comfort and joy. Zyon also has a positive and supportive relationship with her adoptive mother, which helps strengthen their sibling connection.
