Introduction

Journey is a happy girl. She loves ballet, taekwondo lessons, gardening, dancing, and being outdoors. Journey is also able to make and maintain peer relationships both in and out of her school setting. She wants to be a teacher or social worker when she is older! She did very well in her last year of elementary school and is looking forward to middle school. She is performing well in school with the help of services for math and for social and emotional needs. She is in a regular classroom setting. She loves attention and may engage in attention-seeking behaviors at times but can easily be redirected. Journey attends therapy and is currently working on her coping skills as well as building safe relationships. Journey has learned to allow herself the freedom to take some personal space when she needs to and to take deep breaths to help relieve anxiety. She does well with routine and boundaries that have allowed her to make behavioral and emotional progress. She has been described as creative, smart, very observant, loving, affectionate, and helpful.Journey describes herself as: "being kind, nice, athletic and is a sister." "someone who likes to sing, draw Anime and has experienced walking on a ropes course. "having a fear of transition but also has a love for Good food."Journey would do best in a home with at least 1 female caregiver with no other children in the home or with much older children. Journey will need the help of her new family to maintain contact with her siblings. There is an open adoption agreement with her birth father for 2 visits a year but he has not reached out to attend any of these visits to date.
