Introduction
Marie, whose pronouns are they/them, is described as funny and quirky. Marie loves to laugh and enjoys poking fun with friends and loved ones. Marie loves sharing their interest and exploring new ones. Marie creates strong bonds to individuals she finds genuine connections with. Marie love for dancing and music has sparked their aspiration of becoming a DJ. Marie also loves playing video games and board games. Marie loves going out to eat and loves Chinese, Sushi, and Haitian food. Marie loves cereal and wants a cereal bar for her birthday. Marie has recently taken up baking and it has become a fun activity for them to engage in. Marie displays an incredible curiosity in learning new activities but seeks understanding when trying those new activities.Marie is adjusting to a new teacher and navigating the complexities of attending school through their residential program where they stay. They are enrolled in reduced size classes with the support of an IEP. Marie loves school and is described as a pleasure to have in class. Marie has also established a great relationship with their school clinician. They relate well with their peers and is known to be incredibly open and honest. Marie's social worker is open to exploring families of any constellation with older or no children in the home. The perfect family will be confident providing Marie with the assistance they need accessing support services. Interested families should be experienced with therapeutic parenting and collaborating with their providers including their therapists to address their needs. Families trained in supporting youth with trauma and loss and special needs advocacy in education will be strongly encouraged.Marie is of Haitian and African American descent. Interested families need to be firmly committed to providing appropriate ethnic and cultural role models and information with respect to their birth culture which includes discussing racism and discrimination. It is important to Marie that their relationship with their brother be maintained which includes monthly visits.
