Introduction

Alanna is a very smart and easygoing young lady who loves to try new things. She is described as a "great kid", easy to talk to, and very helpful. Alanna loves to be active and would love to take gymnastics lessons, she would love to be part of a gymnastics team. She enjoys arts and crafts, specifically pottery and origamis and also loves cooking. Alanna  loves babies and often says that she would babysit for free just to be around them. She loves being outdoors and playing with animals, except for snakes, worms, and bees. Alanna also enjoys going to the library and picking out books to read. She really has fun playing family board games. Alanna has aspirations of being a veterinarian or cook.

Alanna is currently attending a middle school and thrives in small groups. Reading is an area of relative strength for her, but she needs support with spelling and math. Alanna does well with breaks and daily emotional check-ins with her guidance counselor. She is placed with a separate foster family from her sister, with a foster mom and dad and she is the only child in the home currently. Alanna has established a great relationship with her foster parents.

Alanna's social worker is looking for a dedicated and nurturing family of any constellation with or without other children in the home, with or without pets. Interested families should be experienced in therapeutic parenting and be willing to welcome support from providers including her therapist. First-time parents will be considered if they have had experience with supporting youth with trauma and loss. She needs unconditional love, a sense of safety and security, consistency, and opportunities for enrichment and developmental growth. Interested families should be open to maintaining the strong bond she has with her big sister, the only consistent relationship she has.
