Introduction

Adriana is a bright, motivated teenager. Adriana loves to spend time with friends, especially shopping at Hot Topic or going to local restaurants. They are eager to gain more independence in school and in the community. Adriana has her learners permit and would love to find a part-time job. They are an avid reader and enjoy podcasts. While they love many movie genres, they have a special love for horror movies. Adriana appreciates nature and often goes on walks and other outdoor adventures. Adriana is an animal person, and especially loves cats. Adriana is very creative and has a strong passion for art, drawing, and music. Their favorite genre is hard rock. Adriana loves Halloween and dressing up. They love expressing themselves through fashion. Adriana is very witty and brings humor into their interactions with friends and adults.

Adriana attends school daily, where they receive some additional support. They do well academically. Adriana has dreams of attending college and has expressed interest in studying English or Psychology. They enjoy writing, particularly poetry.

Adriana would do well with a family of any constellation. A family should be open to participating in any recommended services. They would do well with a family who is open and encourages them to express their identity and interests. Adriana is biracial, with a Portuguese, Haitian, and Caucasian background.. As with all children, Adriana would benefit from having pre-adoptive parents of the same racial and ethnic background. If a family can meet all of their other needs but are of a different racial and/or ethnic background, they need to be comfortable teaching them about their birth culture. They also must be comfortable discussing race and racism.
