Introduction
Chantce and Halo are spunky, creative girls who share a very close bond. Chantce, the older sister, is outgoing and makes friends easily. She loves sports, especially soccer, basketball, and hockey. Both girls love to play outside. Chantce is creative and enjoys art projects. Halo is a curious and sweet girl. While she can be shy at first, once she is comfortable she loves to spend time with others. Halo loves to go swimming and participate in gymnastics. She also enjoys art projects. Chantce and Halo have a very close relationship and love spending time together.
Chantce is enrolled in school. Her teachers describe her as helpful and kind. She enjoys school and tries her best in class. Halo is also enrolled in school and receives some additional support. Halo is described as curious and hardworking in class. Both girls have many friends at school and enjoy playing sports and spending time with friends at their after school program.
Chantce and Halo would do well with a safe, loving, and active family of any constellation. The girls should be able to continue their after school activities and explore other hobbies as well. As with all children, Chantce and Halo would benefit from having pre-adoptive parents of the same racial and ethnic background. If a family can meet all of Chantce and Halo’s other needs but are of a different racial and/or ethnic background, they need to be firmly committed to raising her with providing appropriate role models and information about their birth culture. Regardless of their ethnic or racial identity, the pre-adoptive family must be comfortable discussing race and racism. Chantce and Halo will require a slower transition where they can build a trusting and predictable relationship. They are very bonded with their foster parents and would like to maintain their relationship. Chantce and Halo visit with their mother and have contact with their older siblings. It is recommended that these relationships be maintained.
