Introduction
Meagan and Alanna are caring sisters who want to grow up together with the same family. Meagan, the oldest sister, is a bright, charismatic, and introspective girl with an amazing sense of self-awareness. She considers herself very mature, independent, and trustworthy. Meagan has a fun side and loves a good pillow fight. She loves art and enjoys reading and has quite the collection of books. She enjoys talking to her friends and is very caring. Meagan loves babies and animals and really hopes to get a job pet sitting or babysitting, so that she can earn money to buy a phone. Alanna, the younger sister, is very smart, easygoing, and loves to try new things. She is described as a great kid who is easy to talk to and loves to help around the house. Alanna loves to be active and would love to take gymnastics lessons and to be part of a gymnastics team. She also likes arts and crafts and making origamis. Alanna loves role playing with her baby dolls and dressing them. Like her big sis, she loves babies and often says that she would babysit for free just to be around them. She also loves animals, except for snakes, worms, and bees. Alanna also enjoys going to the library and picking out books to read.Meagan is enrolled in middle school, is excelling, and always getting good grades. She enjoys ELA (English Language Arts), reading, and is also interested in taking a language this year. Meagan has established positive friendships. Meagan currently lives with her foster mother and her younger son. She enjoys being in her foster placement and she has developed a good relationship with them. Alanna is currently attending a new elementary school this year and thrives in small groups. Reading is an area of relative strength for her, but she needs support with spelling and math. Alanna does well with breaks and daily emotional check-ins with her guidance counselor. She is placed with a separate foster family from her sister, with a foster mom and dad and she is the only child in the home currently. Alanna has established a great relationship with her foster parents and does well in the home with the one-on-one attention. Both foster families are working together to keep the girls connected. The sisters have a strong bond and have been the only consistent relationship in one another’s lives. They love one another and want to be together.Their social worker is looking for a dedicated and nurturing family of any constellation with or without other children in the home and with or without pets. Interested families should be experienced in therapeutic parenting to address their unmet early needs and be willing to welcome support from providers including their therapists. First-time parents could also be considered if they have had experience with supporting youth with trauma and loss. These girls need unconditional love, a sense of safety and security, consistency, and opportunities for enrichment and developmental growth.
