Description
The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) invites pre/adoptive and recently or long-ago placed families to a series of Trauma Informed Parenting virtual trainings facilitated by Fostering Hope’s TBRI® practitioners. TBRI stands for Trust-Based Relational Intervention and is a therapeutic model designed to help children who have experienced trauma, such as abuse, neglect, or multiple foster placements. It focuses on building trust, meeting a child's physical and emotional needs, and guiding appropriate behavior through compassionate caregiving. TBRI is attachment-based and aims to address the unique challenges faced by children from "hard places". Click through each event below to learn more about TBRI and the benefits of this caregiving model. While we invite you to consider taking the time to come to the entire series, it is okay if you can't come to every session. This is a practical training series with interaction through the Zoom chat feature and occasional verbal discussion, and participants are asked to be available on camera throughout the session, if possible.
This opportunity is intended for Massachusetts pre/adoptive families who are in MAPP training or beyond or families already placed, but we can be flexible on that! Certificates of participation will be given for training hours.
*** Please note that you must log in to your MARE account in order for the "Register" button to appear for the individual sessions.

About TBRI: TBRI® is an evidence-based caregiving intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of children from hard places of abuse, neglect, and/or trauma. TBRI® empowers caregivers and professionals to create within their homes and practices cultures of felt-safety, trust, attachment, and, ultimately, hope and healing. The training will help attendees better understand the needs of children with trauma histories and consider some tools and strategies that maximize their potential for growth in our care. You can learn more about the TBRI® model here: https://youtu.be/FWScSJKjn1A
About the Facilitators: Fostering Hope’s team of TBRI® Practitioner Trainers are passionate and dedicated foster and adoptive parents and/or professionals working directly with children who have experienced foster care. Fostering Hope TBRI® Practitioners have been formally trained by the Karen Purvis Institute of Child Development in Fort Worth, Texas and bring to every session a deep belief in the power of relational connection as a healing force. Drawing on both their professional training and personal experience, trainers first guide participants to a deeper understanding of trauma and its impact on young minds and bodies and then provide practical strategies for building trust, enhancing attachment, and effectively managing challenging behaviors in children who have experienced trauma or adversity. Each trainer speaks with honesty and authenticity as they continue to learn and apply these principles within their own homes and/or child welfare professions.
